Jameson Tabor recently played the WFNM at Bar Lubitsch with keyboard support from Elise Go. He had a million dollar smile and a dance performance that was no doubt influenced by his musical acting background. His engaging performance had the crowd chanting UFO with him during the song "UFO." UFO is the acronym for Unexplored Feelings of Obsession. With arms outstretched, he provided the early crowd with a warm singing embrace to start the night off on a positive note.

He was kind enough to respond to a Q&A request.Q. How would you describe your sound? A. I called it Bluestep, which is essentially a funk and rnb combo, but I like to think of it more as blues-inspired dance pop. I’m into playful, story-driven lyrics with music that still makes you wanna dance.

Q. If you weren’t pursuing music, what do you think you might be doing in its place? A. If I wasn’t pursuing a career in music, I don’t really know what I’d do. I know that’s kinda crazy to have no backup plan, but I guess, I’d be an actor. I used to perform in musicals a lot as a kid. And probably work with high school students. Right now I also run a studio where I help uplift other singers and help them express themselves and bring their creative visions to life (The Tabor Studio) so it feels like a natural parallel.
Own unique info: Something unique about me is I have two kids, and my family is living up in Portland for the next year or so while my wife gets her master’s degree in graphic design. Supporting this whole family with my music and my art has been challenging to say the least, but I’m so proud to be living my best life and that I get to do what I love every day. It’s such a huge blessing.
