Someday's passion came through during their set at Zebulon. The vocals screamed emotion and their music rocked the night. One could tell that the crowd was getting into their sound -- and not just their cover songs. For their soon to be released tune "Falling," the crowd could be heard yelling their approval as the band stretched those guitar strings to the limit. I conducted an interview with the band, which you can read pass the jump.

Q. What's the story behind how your band started? A. Remy (bass), Kyle (vocals and guitar), and Ben (drums) grew up together playing music at church. We started jamming in our living rooms and trying to write songs, but nothing really went anywhere until a couple of years ago, when we recorded and released our first single, “Bloom,” under the name Someday. The following year, we released “Free.”
About a year later, we met Noah, our other guitarist. We became friends, and he was a natural fit for the band. Since then, we’ve released our latest single, “Closeout,” and have been playing shows together.

Q. What motivates you to write your music? A. All four of us have a deep love and appreciation for art. Even outside the band, we’re always creating in some way. Music has shaped each of our lives, and we love how it can express things that words alone sometimes can’t.
For us, writing music is a way to share hope. We want to make songs people connect with, see themselves in, and love listening to. Ultimately, we hope our music brings people together, reminds them they’re not alone, and points them toward something beyond whatever they’re going through.

Q. Is there something unique about the band that you'd like to pass along? A. Our faith is also a big part of why we create. We want to be honest about the struggles and questions we face while still holding onto hope. “Closeout,” for example, came from feeling overwhelmed by life and distant from God. We hope that honesty gives people something they can relate to.
Setlist: Free, Closeout, Bad Habit (Steve Lacy cover), My Own Worst Enemy (Lit cover), Grow, The Middle (Jimmy Eat World), Falling, Valerie (The Runarounds cover), Bloom.
