I've seen Dove Armitage (Quincy Larsen) twice this year. Interestingly enough, she was opening on nights that I was covering for US Rocker Music. In October, she was opening up for Sunflower Bean at Zebulon. In December, she was playing The Fonda Theatre in support for Zaho de Sagazan. To clarify, the year 2024 is not the first time I've come across Dove Armitage or, for that matter, Larsen.

I initially came across Larsen when her band Cat Scan had a 2018 residency at the Echoplex. I wrote this at the time:
"I wish I had seen Cat Scan twice, but it just didn't work out. I did get to see them for their final residency night and that will have to do for now. This band will just rock you with their garage punk sounds. I love how the band switches vocals between two of the band members. It helps switch up the sound. In the back of my mind, I was thinking, 'I'd love to see Cat Scan playing with The Paranoyds and Potty Mouth.' That would be one fun night. Especially since each has a band member who likes to put on a stage show with wild moves."

The band continued to perform once venues re-opened, but ended their run when Recor returned to her homeland of Germany.
Also, not to be forgotten, but she was also took part in the Death Valley Girls rotation of band members.
In 2023, Dove Armitage released a 6 song EP titled Concernless. My favorite of the 6 songs is the industrial bass laden "Glass In Me." I just can't get enough of staccato singing of the chorus:
Hypnotized my guyHypnotized, bye-bye
The EP title may be Concernless, but I feel like the lyrics of the song are not so definitive when it comes to romance:
Take precaution, but please proceedThere's glass on the floor, there's glass in me
Watch your step, rinse, repeat
